ABF The Soldiers' Charity

ABF The Soldiers' Charity, formerly the Army Benevolent Fund is a British charity. Since 1944 it has been the British Army's national charity, and provides financial and practical support to soldiers, former soldiers, and their families in times of need, even after they have left the Army.

The Ulysses Trust

The Ulysses Trust provides funding assistance to challenging expeditions and adventurous activities involving members of the Volunteer Reserve Forces and Cadet Forces of the UK. Founded in 1992, it has supported over 1,500 expeditions to the tune of around £1.5 million. The Trust’s funds come from a variety of sources: some of the benefactors, and details of how to make donations, are shown within the Fundraising section of their site. The Nuffield Trust for the Forces of the Crown is a core benefactor of the Ulysses Trust, and it is their funds which have enabled its sponsorship of the expedition. The Ulysses Trust is a registered charity (registration number 1012346), sponsored by the Ministry of Defence.

CNP Professional

CNP Professional have been at the forefront of sports nutrition for nearly 20 years. CNP Professional is proud to support the SPEAR17 expedition in providing the nutritional advice to team members and the development of bespoke products to complement the expedition packs to maximise energy per gramme and deliver a balanced and more effective nutritional profile.

Bourn Hall Clinic

It is a great pleasure to welcome yet another sponsor to our expedition. Without their support and that of all our other sponsors our challenge to raise £100,000 for the ABF while becoming the first ever 6-man team to successful cross the Antarctic continent would not be possible. Many thanks go to Bourn Hall for their generous contribution. Bourn Hall is an IVF clinic in Cambridge but more than that, it is a very special clinic for a number of reasons. It was at Bourn Hall in 1987 that our very own expedition member James Facer-Childs was conceived under the guidance of IVF pioneers and Nobel Prize winners Mr Patrick Steptoe and Professor Robert Edwards. Their work and the ongoing work at Bourn Hall has made the impossible dreams to have a family a reality for so many. Since the early days Bourn Hall Clinic has been a supportive sanctuary for anyone having difficulties conceiving. Their aim is to make anyone needing IVF feel at home in a caring environment, an ideal place to be when trying to create a family.
